Years and years ago when I was probably about 7 or 8, I found this recipe in an LDS children’s magazine called The Friend. And almost a decade and a half later, these are still hands down, the best no bakes. They are so silky smooth, melt in your mouth perfect. Plus its a one pot recipe, so the clean up is easy!

In a large sauce pan, combine the sugars and the cocoa.

2. Mix in the milk, then the butter or margarine.

3. While stirring, bring the mixture to a boil and cook one minute; remove from the heat.

4. Blend the peanut butter into the mixture until it is smooth.

5. Stir in the vanilla and the oatmeal.

6. Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls onto wax paper.  Let them cool at least 30 minutes.

Mud Puddles aka Classic No Bakes

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 3 Tablespoons cocoa
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine
  • 1 cup peanut butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 1/2 cups oatmeal

Instructions
